How To Clean Carpet Stained by Beer or Wine
You will need: White vinegar, spray bottle, sponge, warm water, white paper towels and a heavy weight (like a large book).
1. Mix one part warm water with one part white vinegar and pour the solution into the spray bottle.
2. Saturate the affected area with the solution and allow to stand for around 10 - 15 minutes.
3. Clean the area in a rubbing motion with the sponge.
4. Rinse the area with warm water.
5. Brush the carpet pile back into it's natural direction.
6. Cover the area with layers of white paper towels and place your heavy object on top leaving enough time for the area to dry.
How To Clean Ink Stains on Carpets
You will need: Isopropyl Alchohol (available fromyour local grocery or department store), A clean white cloth or paper towel.
1. Apply the isopropyl alcohol by pouring some onto you cloth or paper towel.
2. Blot the stain as much as possible until it is removed.
The towel or paper cloth you use must be white, do not use coloured cloths.
You will also need to be careful and blot the stain in one direction to ensure you do not spread it.
How To Clean Candle Wax Off Carpet
You will need: A paper bag (the kind you put you sandwiches in) and an iron.
1. Set your iron to a warm setting
2. Pace the paper bag over the wax stain
3. Iron over the paper bag slowly. The wax will absorb into the paper bag.
4. When the area of paper bag you are using becomes saturated with wax, move to a clean area of the bag.
Do not set you iron too high otherwise you may burn your carpet and also do not hold the iron on the paper bag for too long otherwise you will risk the bag burning.
If your carpet is stained by coloured wax and you find it has left some of the color behind on your carpet after you have removed the wax then you will want to clean the area again with a carpet cleaner.
